We, Mirko, Nimue and our kids Edda and Ari live and act here on the Kulm. We have taken this wonderful peace of land into our heart and would like to welcome you here!
In harmony with nature our „Kulm-lodge“ with a large outdoor area is situated in the heart of the „Sächsische Schweiz“, directly on the Malerweg, a famous hiking-trail. Located next to the forest and closed to a lot of climbing-rocks, for which the mountains are famous for. From the lodge you can see the Lilienstein, the Festung Königstein, the famous Bastei and you can reach a lot of different hiking-destinations easily. Cause there is no heating at all (excaped the tinyhouses) we are only open during summer season from April to October.  You can sleep in different accomodations from a unrenovated former childrens-holiday-camp with the flair of the former east-germany (DDR) up to a nice new tiny house. We only have self-catering kitchens and group sanitary facility for all accomodations! There is no restaurant and no possibility to get food in the village.
Attention: The lodge is still not renovated and very easy, if you don‘t know the place and you are unsure about the comfort you can contact us before coming. There is no heating at all and no outlets in the sleeping-rooms, please consider this in case of planing a trip to our place.
We plan to renovate the hostel from end of 2023 to 2025.
The lodge is not suitable for partys and noisy events cause we have nighttime peace from 10 p.m on the whole area and our guests appreciate the place specially because of the silence. The Kulm-Lodge has place for maximum 50 people in different accomodations:  A simple and not renovated building (barrack style), a little hut, a bigger hut, two tiny houses, a camping meadow and one site for a camper/van. They are explained below :

Barrack building with shared bed rooms and self-catering kitchen 

• The main building has place for about 30 people in very easy shared bedrooms, partly with double floor beds (bunk beds) with the following partition: 

        2x four-bed-rooms 

        1x five-bed-rooms 

        3x six-bed-rooms 

        1x common room with two extra beds 

• Cost per night: 14 Euro for adults, 12 Euro for childrens (from 3 to 18 years) 
• The common sanitary facility are located in the basement and are not renovated yet. The self-catering kitchen is equipped for cooking for groups up to 40 people (30 seats and another 20 seats in the common room at the opposite site of the kitchen). 
• The common room can be used for seminars and courses as well. 
• Furthermore the terrasse with outdoor-kitchen can be used to linger, eating or barbecue. 
• Internet via wlan is not available deliberately cause we would like to offer the place for a short digital detox.

• The Kulm-Lodge is suitable specially for children- and youthgroups and familys, because the large area invites you to discover, play, enjoy the nature and chill. Its the perfect place for people who like to be outside, e.g. for hiking and climbing and who have no high demand on comfort but appreciate the silence and the unique nature. 
• ! Please bring your own bedding or sleeping bag (with extra bed sheed!) !

Nature camping :

We also have a camping meadow directly next to the orchard where you can pitch your tent. The common sanitary facility, the terrace, the fireplace and the outdoor kitchen can be used as well.
